Summary:

This dinner, hosted by our partner Cavendish, will provide an excellent opportunity for members to hear and learn about the different paths to funding growth, in particular looking at debt finance, private growth capital and private M&A.

Experts from Cavendish will help members understand when debt is the best option open to them and the best types of debt finance to consider; as well as helping participants understand the multifaceted world of private growth finance. A seasoned private M&A expert will also be present to illuminate the intricacies of this funding avenue.

Meet the Experts:

Alistair Hay

Alistair heads the Debt Advisory team having joined Cavendish in August 2016 from EY’s Capital and Debt Advisory business. In his time at Cavendish, Alistair has led over 20 debt advisory engagements for a range of private, publicly-listed and private equity-owned businesses.Prior to joining EY, Alistair spent 11 years at the Royal Bank of Scotland in various transactional roles within its UK Corporate Banking division where he specialised in event-driven financings for corporates and financial sponsors. Over his 4+ years as a Director in RBS’ Structured Finance team, Alistair led over 40 transactions (incorporating over £6bn of debt financing) across a number of different sector and financing scenarios. Alistair graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003 and became an Associate Member of both the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) and Securities and Investment Institute (SII) in 2005.

Stephen Nemeth

Steve is a Director at finnCap Cavendish, having joined the firm in February 2020. Prior to joining, he spent six years at Clearwater International focusing on the Consumer & Retail, and Food & Beverage sectors. There Steve completed a wide range of corporate finance transactions, from cross-border PLC divestments to owner-managed company sales.Starting his career in the assurance practice of PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the Channel Islands, Steve focused on financial services and specifically the private equity industry.Steve graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2010 and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
