Summary:

With two out of five employees affected by the death of a loved one or colleague, it’s important to understand how to support those struggling with grief and loss. With different people responding to bereavement in different ways, and managers not wanting to be seen to be intrusive, it can be difficult to know how best to help.

Sharing her expertise will be Katy Cullum, a trained Psychotherapist, Mediator and Trainer with over 10 years’ experience. The session will be hosted by Helm Community Manager, Tahnee Knowles, who sadly lost her second child Elvis in 2020.

This session will cover the following:

  • How to understand the impact of grief and loss
  • Develop and understand how theories/models can be used to conceptualise our experience of loss and grief
  • Gain an understanding of how to support you and your employers following loss
  • A look at how to put bereavement policies in place
  • Hear from Tahnee on her first hand experience of grief and being an employee
