For Helm Founders Only!
Join us for an intimate dinner with Paul Swinton, founder and Executive Chair of B4B Payments, a leading global provider of Banking as a Service products, including card issuing and payment solutions for businesses.
Paul founded B4B Payments in 2006 and bootstrapped the business from day one. In 2021, the company was successfully acquired by Banking Circle Group, backed by EQT.
Since the acquisition, Paul has been directing an ambitious growth strategy, driving significant scale-up across the business and delivering triple-digit growth in both 2022 and 2023.
Today, B4B Payments operates globally from its headquarters in London, with offices in Newcastle, Vilnius, and Boston, serving a diverse customer base ranging from SMEs and large corporates to NGOs and fintechs.
The company’s success has been fuelled by Paul’s deep expertise in prepaid card and payments technology and his ability to adapt products to evolving market needs. B4B has been recognised with multiple industry awards, including Best Prepaid Product of the Year, Best Corporate Payments Initiative, and Best Gift Card B2B Product or Service.
Over dinner, Paul will share candid insights from nearly two decades of building, scaling, and evolving a regulated fintech business. The discussion will cover what it really takes to bootstrap successfully, lead through acquisition, and unlock the next phase of growth in a complex, fast-moving sector.
Guests can expect to explore topics such as:
• Bootstrapping versus venture funding
• Scaling products across global markets
• Leading through acquisition and governance change
• Driving triple-digit growth post-acquisition
• Balancing innovation, regulation, and operational scale
• The founder’s role as a business matures
