For Helm members (founders) only!
Join us for an intimate dinner and roundtable with Salman Siddiqui of Hero Brands hosted by Stephen Nemeth, Director of M&A at Cavendish.
This evening offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at how a high-profile consumer transaction actually comes together, from preparation through to execution. Salman brings first-hand experience from leading investment firms including KPMG and the Qatar Investment Authority, and now oversees investment strategy at Hero Brands, a cultural platform behind some of the UK’s most exciting food brands including German Doner Kebab, Choppaluna, Sides, Island Poké, and Dirty Bones.
Cavendish recently advised alongside Hero Brands and German Doner Kebab on securing strategic investment from True Capital, helping GDK continue its rapid global expansion to nearly 200 sites worldwide.
This dinner will unpack that journey in a candid, founder-relevant way.The evening will begin with a moderated Q&A led by Stephen Nemeth, drawing on his extensive experience advising owner-managed businesses and private equity-backed companies across consumer, retail, and food & beverage. The conversation will then open up to the table for a wider, informal discussion.
Topics we’ll explore include:
• Salman’s journey and the investment philosophy behind Hero Brands
• Knowing when a business is truly ready for a transaction
• What the deal process is really like versus expectations
• The role and value of advisors during a transaction
• Working with private equity partners before and after a deal
• Key lessons learned and practical advice for founders
