Two things stand out. Only two organisations in that list will tell you a number before you speak to anyone. And the ones that do publish are not obviously more expensive than the ones that don't, which suggests price secrecy isn't really about the price.
What does Helm cost in practice?
The published number, and what it works out at per hour in the room.
£495 to join, then £495 a month. That's £6,435 in your first twelve months and £5,940 a year after that. It's billed monthly and it's rolling, with one full calendar month's notice to leave.
For that you get a Forum of six to eight members plus a Chair, meeting ten times a year for three hours, with one retreat on top. You also get access to more than 160 events a year, running two to three a week across London and the UK hubs.
Thirty hours of Forum time a year works out at about £214 an hour of facilitated peer time in year one, and about £198 an hour after that, before you count the retreat or a single event.
Whether that's expensive depends entirely on what an hour of your own time is worth and whether the room actually changes what you do on Monday.
Helm's members average £21m turnover, and the eligibility bar is a UK business at roughly £3m+ turnover or £3m+ raised, with 20 or more full-time staff. So the fee is being set against a business where a bad hire costs six figures.
What does Business Leader cost?
The only headline annual price published in the UK market.
£8,495 plus VAT a year, taken as an annual commitment, with a £495 deposit to secure a place. Add VAT at 20% and the invoice is £10,194, though a VAT-registered business reclaims that.
You're in a group of ten, with nine forum sessions a year plus four one-to-one coaching sessions. The programme is built on Richard Harpin's "9 Steps to a Billion" and includes CliftonStrengths profiling and a written growth plan. Entry is £3m+ turnover, 15+ employees, UK-registered, founders and CEOs only.
Business Leader's ambassador list includes Harpin, Greg Jackson and Jayne-Anne Gadhia. They're a content layer around the programme. They don't run the forums.
This figure is the only headline annual price published in the UK market, and prices move, so check it on the day you're deciding.
What does EO cost in London?
Two currencies, two sets of dues, and a one-off cost that doesn't come back.
EO is the most transparent of the international organisations. Global dues run at roughly USD 2,630, and EO UK-London charges around £1,500 in chapter dues on top. There are also one-off initiation fees, USD 3,500 and £1,000.
That means year one is materially more expensive than year two, and the initiation money doesn't come back if you leave after eighteen months. Because part of the bill is in dollars, your actual sterling cost moves with the exchange rate.
The threshold is USD 1m+ revenue, which is the lowest of the international players, and you have to be an owner, founder or majority stakeholder. A salaried CEO isn't eligible. What happens when YPO, Vistage, Hampton and TAB don't publish a price?
Four of the seven quote you privately, and that changes how you have to buy.
The honest answer is that we don't know. YPO publishes no dues figures. Vistage UK publishes no UK pricing. Hampton publishes no price. TAB UK quotes bespoke. None of them says why, and any reason offered here would be a guess.
What matters is what it does to you as a buyer. You can't compare four of the seven on cost, so you can't build a shortlist on price. You have to ask each one directly, which means a call with someone whose job is to sell you a membership. And when the number does arrive, you have nothing to benchmark it against, because the organisations you'd measure it against are the ones staying quiet too. Assume the first figure you're quoted comes attached to a twelve-month commitment, and ask.
Inc. reported Hampton's membership at USD 15,000 a year in January 2026. That's a credible third-party report and it's worth knowing, but it isn't Hampton's published price and you shouldn't treat it as a quote. TAB's franchise recruitment material has mentioned figures around £600 a month, but that's material aimed at people buying a TAB territory, not a member price list. Treat both as background, then ask directly.

Travel and time out of the business
A Vistage Chief Executive Programme day is a full day, twelve times a year. That's twelve working days gone, plus travel. Helm's Forum meetings are three hours, ten times a year, which is closer to half a day each with travel. If you're outside London, add the train. Over a year the difference in time cost between a full-day model and a half-day model is meaningful, and it's real money if you bill your own time.
Retreats and off-sites
Helm includes one Forum retreat in the annual rhythm, but retreats across this market are frequently charged separately, and international events almost always are. Ask what's in the fee and what's an extra invoice.
The initiation fee trap
Where an organisation charges a joining or initiation fee, that money is usually gone whatever happens next. Helm's is £495, which is one month's dues. EO's combined initiation is USD 3,500 plus £1,000, which is a much larger sum to write off if the fit turns out to be wrong.

Vistage's own published figure for its Chief Executive Programme is a group of 12 to 18, though its Chair materials say up to 12. Helm runs six to eight. In a three-hour meeting, split evenly, a group of eight gives each member around 22 minutes of collective attention. A group of sixteen gives about 11. That's usually the thing that decides whether a group is worth the money.
Then look at who's facilitating. Helm's Chairs are members further along, usually exited founders, often with NED experience. Stuart Miles of Pocket-lint, Stephen Sacks of Muubaa and Funding Nav, and Rob Hamilton of The Instant Group all chair Forums. Vistage and TAB use paid professional facilitators. YPO and EO use peer moderators from the membership. Those are three different products and they shouldn't cost the same.
Who shouldn't spend this money?

If your turnover is under £3m, Helm won't accept you and you shouldn't pay for something you can't use. EO's USD 1m threshold or TAB, which publishes no revenue threshold at all, are the honest answers at that stage.
If you're outside London and the South East, check where meetings actually happen before you pay anything. TAB has the best regional and non-metropolitan coverage in this market. Hampton's only UK city is London.
If you're 46 or older, YPO is closed to you. Its age cap is at joining and it's hard.
And if you can't commit to attending, don't join any of them. Helm's Forum attendance is compulsory and repeated absence can cost you your place. That rule exists because a Forum where two people skip every other meeting stops working for the other six. And you'd still be billed £5,940 for the year whether you turn up or not.
