For Helm members (Founders)
Summary
We’re running 21st-century companies on stone age biology.
Everyone’s racing to adopt AI, but that will soon be table stakes. The founders who win in the AI era won’t be the ones trying to out-process machines. They’ll be the ones who have upgraded their Human Operating System: the ability to stay clear under pressure, lead transformation, retain critical talent, influence stakeholders with authenticity, and build cultures that drive innovation.
Time for a Human OS upgrade.
Most leaders are making million-pound decisions from fight-or-flight states — trying to think strategically while their biology is hijacking attention, judgement, and creativity. This session introduces an “upgrade” that’s available to all of us: training in meta-awareness — the capacity to notice yourself operating in real time and choose differently.
When you develop that capacity, things shift: you lead uncertainty with grounded calm, insight comes more easily, trust increases through presence, and decisions come from clarity — not just data or adrenaline.
A neuroscience-backed framework built around three core capacities:
This isn’t a session about what to do as a leader. It’s about how to be when the stakes are high.
If you’re scaling fast, your decisions compound — and your state when you make them materially affects outcomes. This is for founders who recognise that:
Shona joined Headspace as employee #2 and COO, helping build the product, business, and team over six years through hypergrowth and multiple funding rounds — as Headspace went on to reach 100M+ users across 190+ countries.
She did it off the back of burnout. At 30, Shona was signed off with chronic anxiety, found recovery through meditation, and soon after joined the Headspace founders to help build one of the world’s defining mind-health brands.
Grounded in 5,000+ hours of consciousness training and nearly two decades studying elite performance and leadership, Shona created The Human OS Upgrade — a neuroscience-backed framework for unlocking human capacity in the AI era. Today she works globally as a keynote speaker, executive coach, and board advisor to founders and CEOs.
